The 68th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) commenced on 7 July 2026, where the representatives of the 194 member states of WIPO participate at the meetings of the highest-level bodies of the organization. The delegation of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) is led by Mr Szabolcs Farkas, President.

On the margins of the Assemblies, the delegation of HIPO will have bilateral meetings with the national IP offices of Switzerland,
Israel, Canada and Austria, the Director General of WIPO, and will participate at several side events.
The event, attended by more than 1300 delegates, was opened by Mr Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO.
In his opening statement delivered on the second day of the session, Szabolcs Farkas congratulated Director General Daren
Tang on his re-election and emphasized that Hungary remains firmly committed to supporting the modernization of the international
intellectual property registration systems and the global intellectual property framework. He also expressed his gratitude
to the Director General for honoring Hungary with his personal presence at key events, notably the EU Presidency Conference
in October 2024 and the celebration marking the 130th anniversary of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office in March 2026.
