Visit of the President of the Finnish National Board of Patents and Registration to the Hungarian Patent Office
On 23 and 24 June 2008 Mr. Martti Enäjärvi, President of the Finnish National Board of Patents and Registration paid a bilateral presidential level visit to our Office. At the meeting the HPO was represented by Dr. Miklós Bendzsel, President, Mrs. Márta Posteiner-Toldi, Vice-President for Technical Affairs, Mrs. Éva Bakos, Director, Mr. Jenő Kürtössy and Dr. Imre Gonda Heads of Departments, Ms. Ildikó Hönig and Mr. Béla Tidrenczel Head os Sections and Dr. Anna Lőrincz Legal Officer.
The agenda of the meeting included the current issues of the European Patent Organisation, issues concerning community patent in the European Union, developments relating to the nomination of the new Director General of WIPO and the activity of OHIM, in particular its co-operation with national offices and training and secondment of experts in OHIM. The participants informed each other of the latest developments and services in their offices. The Hungarian office presented its new CD about the HPO, its strategy for the 2007-2010 and the new performance evaluation system.
On Hungarian initiative and with Finnish agreement the parties took a stand in favour of expert meetings and the eventual creation of a working party, which would deal with the evaluation of patents as intangible assets and the activity of which would be carried out in the framework of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology to be set up in Budapest.
On the first day of the discussions, a professional presentation was held for the wife of the Finnish President at the Trademark, Model and Design Department.
