In copyright cases civil and criminal means of enforcement are both available at courts, as well as an out-of-court dispute resolution. In addition, there are specific provisions regarding on-line infringements and infringements in connection with products imported from outside of the European Union.
In principle, authors shall enforce their copyrights individually. However, there are certain rights to be under so called collective management of rights, where a collective management organisation is entitled to act on behalf of the rightholder. For further details, please click on the link of collective managements of copyright and related rights.
For more information about the rightholders, type of protected works and rights, as well as the competent collective management organizations for each type of rights, please find the register of collective management organizations kept by the HIPO (only available in Hungarian).
