Search report
A report published simultaneously with the publication of the patent application or separately at a later date and transmitted to the applicant together with copies of any cited documents. It contains the citations of the documents disclosed during the search and considered to be relevant from the point of view of assessing the novelty of the invention and the inventive step involved, their important data, the indication of particularly relevant passages and the categorisation of the documents' relevance. In possession of the search report the applicant can decide whether he wishes to continue the procedure, i.e. whether he requests substantial examination of the application. (Article 69 of Act XXXIII of 1995)
