Bilateral meeting with the Director General of WIPO

On 13 July 2026, a bilateral meeting was held between the delegation of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) and the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva in connection with the 68 th series of WIPO Assemblies.

At the meeting, Mr Szabolcs Farkas, President of HIPO, and Mr Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO, discussed the common goals and the potential perspectives of cooperation. One of the key topics of the meeting was the Intellectual Property Management Master’s programme, which will be launched in September 2026 through the cooperation of Corvinus University of Budapest, HIPO and WIPO. The parties also reviewed the results achieved since the WIPO Director General’s previous visit to Budapest. WIPO and HIPO agreed to launch a pilot project to promote IP-backed financing.
