Trademark Search provides quick and user-friendly information regarding trademarks valid in the territory of Hungary which are identical or similar to the sign you have indicated. It is recommended to use this service before filing a trademark application or in order to avoid infringement.
If you wish to file a trademark application, but are uncertain whether it meets the requirements for trademark registration, you may consider acquiring this service, which, in addition to trademark search, provides information whether there are any grounds for refusal examined by the Office that may prevent the registration of the sign as a trademark.
If you have a registered trademark or have filed a trademark application, but do not have the time or the opportunity to regularly check the official journal of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, you may consider acquiring our trademark monitoring service, in which we send every search report the sign indicated by the Customer is included in, thus the Customer shall be notified of any subsequent trademark applications that may conflict with the indicated trademark/trademark application.
This service provides well-founded information to help determine whether, considering the novelty and individual character of the design, it is worthwhile to file a national application or to seek protection in other countries or regions. Additionally, the service can be useful after the filing of a design application or the granting of protection for those wishing to assess the novelty and individual character of their design.
Since copyright protection arises automatically and is not subject to registration, in the event of a legal dispute all facts
and circumstances related to the work must be proven in front of the court. In this regard, the voluntary register of works
maintained by HIPO can assist the author.
The registration of a work in the voluntary register does not in itself establish any intellectual property right in relation to the creation; rather, it provides the author
with an evidentiary tool in the event of a potential legal dispute.

Public data reuse refers to the use of documents held by the National Intellectual Property Office for purposes outside the original scope of public service, whether commercial or non-commercial.
Our colleagues at the Client Service are at your disposal in person, on the telephone and in writing as well. We give detailed information on the protection of intellectual creations.
Our clients are welcome in person during opening hours. It is not necessary to make an appointment; however, if you would like to make use of the services of the voluntary register of works or of trademark search, we recommend that you contact us via phone or email beforehand.

Council of Copyright Experts The Council of Copyright Experts provides advisory opinions in copyright-related issues arisen in legal disputes upon the request of courts and authorities, as well as upon the request of private parties concerned in out-of-courts disputes related to the right of use. In order to find more information on how to request an advisory opinion and its fees, procedure, as well as on the members and activity of the Council, please visit the main page of the Council.
In professional questions arising in industrial property legal disputes, the courts and other authorities may request an expert opinion of the Body of Experts on Industrial Property (Body of Experts) at the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office.
