Modifications in opposition and limitation procedures

The European patent maintained as amended as a result of an opposition or a limitation procedure becomes effective in Hungary if the patentee files the patent claims in Hungarian and  in case of European patents in German or French granted by the EPO  a translation of any other text included in the maintained as amended European patent into either English or Hungarian to the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office and pays the fee determined by special legal regulation in due time after the publication of the modification in the European Patent Gazette.

The Hungarian Patent Office registers the fact of modification in a separate part of the Patent Register, and publishes information in its official journal on the filing of the required translations of the amended European patent's text.

The Hungarian Intellectual Property Office makes available to the public the translation of the text of the European patent maintained as amended as a result of an opposition or a limitation procedure.
